OHS New iPhone Setup Instructions

This document is designed to walk you through the setup of your new iphone.  If you have any questions or problems, please let the I.T. Department know by creating a help ticket. 

Before you unpack your new phone:

  1. Setup a time with someone in the I.T. department to activate your new phone.  This should only take a few minutes.   
  2. If you have a current iCloud account on your phone, make sure you have a recent backup stored. 
  3. The I.T. tech may ask you for some information listed on the phone’s box or paperwork.  Mainly the IMEI and the ICCID numbers
  4. If you still have your old phone.  It will need to be turned off before we begin activation.
  5. Once activation is complete, your I.T. tech will let you know that it’s ok to proceed.

Open up your phone and power it on

  1. Select your preferred Language
  2. Select your Country
  3. Choose “Set Up Manually”
  4. Choose your wifi or use the cellular connection.  OHS Guest wifi’s password is “iheartpets”
  5. Wait for the phone to activate

 

Apps & Data page

  1. Click “Don’t Transfer Apps & Data”
  2. I you have a previous ICloud backup, you can sign into it and restore everything later. 

Remote Management

If at anytime you get an error during this part, just backup and try again. Errors at this stage seem to be related to a bad connection.

  1. When the Remote Management page pops up, click next
  2. Enter your OHS Username and Password as well as the domain which is oregonhumane.org
  3. Select “I have read and accept the terms”
  4. Click Continue
  5. Wait for the configuration to install

iPhone Setup

  1. Setup Touch ID or Face ID (depending on preference and phone model)
  2. Create a passcode
  3. Keep your iPhone up to date.  Click Continue
  4. Enable Location Services
  5. Choose Light or Dark Appearance

 

MaaS360 Setup

  1. Make sure Location Services is enabled. You can verify this by going into Settings>Privacy & Security and ensure it is enabled 
  2. Then scroll down the Location Services page until you reach the entry for MaaS360 and tap the text next to it to open the Location settings for that app 
  3. Under "Allow Location Access" make sure "Always" is checked 

Email Setup

  1. You will see a pop up that says Enter the password for the exchange account.
  2. Click Edit Settings
  3. When the Microsoft page opens, verify that the sign in is the same as your email address. 
  4. Click Next
  5. Enter your OHS password
  6. You can close out of the settings

 

Apps

 OHS apps should appear automatically on your phone’s desktop.  If they don’t, you can find them in the App Catalog which has an icon that looks like the OHS logo.

If you want to add any apps that we don’t carry, you will need to make your own iCloud account.  Please make sure to use your OHS email address as the username. 

PTT+

  1. When you first click on the PTT icon, the app will open a lot of windows.  Some of them will close faster than you can click on them.  This is normal.
  2. You will be clicking OK or Allow on all of these questions
  3. When it brings up the “Verizon Push To Talk Plus (PTT+) Terms and Conditions” page, click the checkmark in the bottom left corner.
  4. It will want to send an activation text.  DO NOT change anything in the body of the text. Click the green upward arrow
  5. You can either View or Skip the tutorial
  6. Make a test PTT call.  (You can call me or which ever I.T. tech is helping you.)

 

PayCom

  1. Click Allow for Notifications
  2. Agree to the End User Agreement
  3. Sign into your Paycom account

 

Email

  1. When you first open your email app, it will ask you for your OHS password
  2. You might get an error saying “The Connection to the server failed” That is normally an issue with connectivity.  Click OK, and back out or close the Email app.  When you open it back up, your emails should start to populate.  It might take a while so, give it some time.
  3. One thing to note, your OHS calendar and contacts will automatically populate.

Update

  1. Lastly, when you are finished make sure your phone is up to date. 
  2. Open Settings and go to General, then Software Updates.  Install the newest update available. 

 

If you need/ want any other apps installed, you will need to create your own icloud account or, if you already have one that you created personally, you can use that. 

 

Congratulations, your new phone is now setup.  If you have ANY issues with it, please don’t hesitate to create and I.T. Ticket.
